Established in 1980, City Computers began life specialising in bespoke and packaged Insurance systems for the London market. Following on from this success, they have developed an impressive portfolio of products, which includes: ‘Slip Manager’, designed specifically for the Non-Marine Slip Market; ‘Run Off Plus’, tailored to the needs of Insurers in run-off; ‘Car’, a fully featured Motor insurance system; ‘COBRA’ providing a solution for the general insurance market and ‘Mariner’, a London Market Marine package. In 1994 City Computers acquired the Legal Software Supplier, Timeslice Ltd. This offered them entry into a new marketplace and enabled them to expand their product range. Both companies are now benefit from the synergistic advantages created through a close working partnership, in both the Insurance and Legal Markets.
City Computer’s latest development is ‘Polygonal’, ‘The Multi-Dimensional Insurance System’. Through a careful integration of both ‘Run Off Plus’ and ‘Slip Manager’ and a conversion to the Microsoft .Net platform, users are offered the strengths and functionality of earlier systems, combined with the latest technologies and techniques. ‘Polygonal’ is presented to the market as a comprehensive, underwriting system, suitable for business in all markets, the risk and unreliability usually associated with new systems, has been successfully eliminated.
